Mentoring and Counselling are both credible avenues for development.
Whilst both could have some overlaps, in terms of that they help you to understand yourself better, and both have therapeutic probable, there is still a dichotomy between these tools when considering focus and approach.
Furthermore, the progression of a client is quite dependent on the approach, skill and commitment of the practitioner.
If you look forward to moving on with your life, past your traumas with intentions to insert positive transformations in your life, then mentoring is for you.
It is important to note however that if you are suffering from untreated mental health illnesses or disorders that you feel are becoming difficult to manage, or you have suicidal tendencies, then it is advisable that you also contact your GP as well, as soon as possible for that matter, so that you can receive immediate attention and care.
